- Retry, with 'Full Chip Erase' = Failed to open serial port. Cannot leave firmware flasher 'wait for operation to finish'. Although board nor FTDI show activity.
- When setting LinkOne to a COM port the following message appears 'Failed to open serial port COM2. If this is a com port on this pc, another application has the port opened ( like for example Hyper Terminal or Active sync).

I had the same trouble described in this thread. I bought a CC3D from HobbyKing (before learning that OpenPilot had gone away), and when I couldn't get the OP GCS to see it other than to update the firmware (I could flash it, but the configurator refused to recognize it) I called HK. They had nothing to offer other than 'we sell hardware, we don't support software.' Can't Open Serial Port
Based on a comment in the CleanFlight CC3D board docs, I decided to skip the bootloader altogether and just flash the CleanFlight HEX file onto the thing by itself. I adapted the procedure described in the linked article to do so, and voila! The CleanFlight configurator now sees and programs my CC3D.
Beta Flight Failed To Open Serial Port
I am trying to open a virtual serial (usb to serial) port in Hyperterminal and it tells me that it cannot open the COM port. I have tried the exact steps on other computers running Windows 200, XP, and Vista and it works just fine. This means it is not the device and has to be the individual computer, The drivers are loaded correctly, it enumerates and can be seen in device manager on the problem computer.
